Polk County, WI Deputy Sheriff Mike Seversen EOT 4/14/2014

Deputy Seversen was wounded in the line of duty on 4/19/1991, he sucumbed to his injuries 23 years later. Though he was left paralized, he was still considered an active Deputy with the Sheriff's Department. The Sheriff made it very clear during the funeral that Seversen should be described as a current deputy and not a former deputy due to his involvement throughout the past 23 years. I have attached a few articles about Seversen. Attending the funeral for him was very moving and I was extremely impressed at how well the department took care of their brother.
