Since I ended up including some photos in the unity thread, thought I might as well post up both schemes for those who are interested.

For those that are unaware, the current RCMP livery is:

There are two retro schemes available, the up to 1973 retro scheme (black and white) and the 1973-mid 90's scheme (blue and white). Alberta has 6 blue and whites as well as 6 black and whites. Various other provinces have a handfull of each type but I'm not sure how many... certainly no more than 12 total. Here in BC we have none for some reason... the CO here must disapprove I would assume.

The black and whites all get the red Cherry in addition to typical lighting that would go into a slicktop, the blue and whites get the typical lightbar / traffic director setup.

The black and whites also get the "Police Stop" light:

*I do not take credit for any of these photos as they were provided from other provinces

Do the officers have the choice of any of those 3 paint schemes for their cars or do they get what is assigned/given?

I like the one with the Excalibur lightbar

Well unfortunately of the roughly 8,677 vehicles in the RCMP, less than 30 are painted in the retro scheme. Vehicles are not assigned / take home, so if you are lucky enough to be in one of the 15 or so units country wide that might have one of these vehicles amongst the 25 or so available at the beginning of shift then you would get to drive it on occasion. Showing up early to grab the keys before someone else might maximize your chances ;)

I figured so. The blue/white scheme was abandoned far BEFORE the 1998 CVPI shape came up,correct ?

I think these 2 themes are pretty much canada wide. I know in my province and in a neighboring one, they both have cars done up with these schemes. I was, however disappointed that the blue and white car did not have the big ski rack light bar with the 2 rotators on them.

Yeah I dont remember the exact year but I think it was 1994 that we switched to the current scheme... so no current model crown vics were done in the blue and white scheme till now
