I have a Code 3 550 beacon whose reflector finsh is messed up. Does anyone know of a way to make it nice and shiny again? It looks like the finish is cooked away, down to bare metal in the center and gradually getting better as you get to the outside of the reflector.

Thanks for your input

For what is worth, At one time I did take metal duct tape and a razor blade with a little patience managed to make a MX look new again. The bar is still funtional and its been over 4 years.

Hi Bob ---did you try to use a lite grade sand paper on the reflector, to remove any imperfections or old chrome. Don't rub to hard, you don't want to make deep scatches. Then remove the bulb if you can to prevent it from being damaged. Buy a good chrome spray paint for plastics. Spray a lite coat at first to prevent any runs in the paint. Let it dry good. When it dries spray a second coat. After several days when the chrome paint is really good and dry, take a terry cloth rag and buff it to a bright shine. I've done this and it worked for me. Of course its not like new out of the factory but will come nice.
