i personally have never seen a console in a polaris. on most of the
FD utilities that i've seen (gators and kubotas), they usually have rocker switches built into the dash and the mobile radio either mounted in a glove box-type area or directly beneath it (which i don't like, b/c i feel that it's like to get kneed/kicked a lot).
if u can, i'd look into the idea of getting a motorola remote head to mount on the dash and put the bulkier mobile radio elsewhere (in a compartment area with more room), since the remote heads are a lot smaller/less bulky than most of the standard mobile radios housings. For the v-con, i'd look into the possibility of replacing it with something easier to wire...i think that you could replace it with an inexpensive "undercover siren" (i.e.
http://sirennet.com/unsirmodcod3.html if u want to stick with code 3) with the switch mounted on (or recessed) on the dash and for lighting, about 2 havis rocker switches next to the siren switch. if you don't like that idea, there's a company called ASAP that makes cool custom ambulances and brush rigs on polaris chassis; i haven't seen them make any with center consoles either but maybe if you can find some interior pics of their installs you can find some ideas u like
any ideas on lighting for it?
