Found a pair of Signal Stat 374 beacons. (1 was labeled as a Ernest Holmes 374 version).
Both with wrong domes (stratolite 80 doesn´t fit)

One version in good shape, the only necessary work was to clean the beacon and find a nive 375 dome.

The other one (the Holmes version) was in bad shape. Rust and corrosion on all metal parts.
vorher (1).jpg vorher (2).jpg vorher (3).jpg vorher (4).jpg vorher (5).jpg

So I sanded and polished the affected parts.
nachher (1).jpg nachher (2).jpg nachher (3).jpg fertig (2).jpg fertig (1).jpg

And I found 2 domes for the pair. After the usual procedure (wet grinding 1000/1500/2000/2500 and a lot of polish rounds).

I'm surprised you were able to find domes for these at all, I've been searching for a clear one for nearly a decade and NADA. They look excellent.

Thanks, guys.

The selfmade labels are not perfect but the original were really faded and in bad shape.

Based on the label for the 370 I changed the digit "0" to "4" and printed the new label on clear decal foil.

The top version was a test with a metal plate that was too thin.

1. test
2. End result
3. original

What foil did you use to print on. I made some using "Grafix" Clear Adhesive Backed Ink Jet, Acid Free Plastic sheets. I do like the look of the foil. I am experimenting now with contact decals, much like you use on plastic models.
