Signal Stat vintage strobe

Well, I have been on kind of a Signal Stat kick lately.

I have always liked this old style strobe light, and watched this one get re-listed twice on Ebay. Third time is a charm, so I snagged it for $75.00, the only bid.

I have the identicle, non working, twin to it in Dietz, but this is an NOS SS model 309A.

The funny thing about this strobe is the dome. It has an inside verticle fresnel to disperse the light, but the inner dome has horizontal fresnel.

It makes for a very high powered flash to the front & rear, where the dome has a normal section of non-fresnel, but a very odd /off centered flash to the sides through the fresnel. (you can sub the word 'fluting" if you'd like)

It also has the heat-sink ribs for the power supply on the outside.

Kind of a neat light, and I remember the local Chrysler dealer had one on their old 1968 Dodge 300 plow truck.

I noticed it the first time, and was going to bid on it. The second time I had already spent the money. I didn't even see it this time, glad it's in good hands. Could you get some pics of the inside of the light and the dome, please? :D A video wouldn't hurt either!

Since I am a newbie here, I have 3 questions:

1. Since this is one of the first type of strobe, did it create a lot of heat? I see that it has vents mounted on the base.

2. What kind of flash duration does it have?

3. What does the monting plate look like?

I had one of those, although I sent it to auction. I never could locate a proper outer dome. The electronics in the base were actually potted in cardboard boxes, you must have the deluxe model.

3rd. from the left-
