I know that the Sireno Mity Lite II was made by both Federal and SVP.  Can anyone tell me which version this is?

OK, thank you.  I wasn't sure, as I saw that it did not have the telltale flat trailing edge of many non Federal teardrop lights.

Looks like one of the few lights, like Yankee and T-B that has a dome that may fit the Fire Ball, but the light is not a Federal.
Thank you again; I don't know my Federal Fireballs from the other manufacturer's lights.  I need to re-read your Fire Ball Family History thread!

The dome on this Mity-lite II does not look like an SVP dome.  I'm thinking this dome is the same size as a Fireball dome, the base, magnet system, and mounting plate for the rotating assembly look like the Dietz 7-07 and Yankee 1166 with the gear driven reflector circa mid-1980's.

Dietz 7-07

I don't know which company actually designed this particular teardrop beacon as they were all made in Hong Kong and badged for Dietz, Yankee, Tuff-bilt, and Sireno, maybe some others as well.

Definitely a Yankee/Dietz. Does it say "Made In Hong Kong" on the bottom? My first light was a Christmas present in 1981 (I was 9). It was ordered out of the Sears catalog. It was a Yankee 1166. I still remember the box it came in. Bright orange labels with crude police and fire vehicle illustrations. Mine was identical in every way to the light here, save for the Sireno badge.

Never seen this particular build before. At first glance it resembles one of the generic Fire Ball designs such as a Tuff-Bilt, Dietz or Yankee teardrop that all use a similar, albeit less quality, friction drive but this is the first gear drive model I've seen that uses a generic Fire Ball styled lens. It looks like what would happen if a Dietz 77-707 mated with an SVP-1166. The inclusion of a worm gear were you would otherwise find a friction drive is what makes this light different.

That is correct.
I bought a blue one in 1978 and it was marked ”Made in Hong Kong” on the bottom.
Unfortunately the light is now gone except for the lens and the bezel that I have kept.

The lens has the same dimensions as the Fire-Ball and the Dietz/Yankee/Tuff-Bilt light.

The SVP 1166 is larger and has a different shape so there should not be any problem to see the differences.

The Dietz, Yankee and Tuff-Bilt lights are exactly the same lights because Dietz owned Yankee and Tuff-Bilt was only a trade mark of Dietz.
