I received my oldest twinsonic to date this weekend. It was brought to my attention of a fire chief's car being sold off and it had some items they thought I would be interested in. I recived the item second hand and welp it was mounted on a 1968 Chevrolet Biscayne 4door.

This bar has the original first edition endcaps.

Model 12 mirrors on the passenger side and 12X mirrors on the driver's side? Was that a factory option or a modification by the department?

And do I see a model 12FX end cap set? The X looks like it was stamped by hand. Again, factory or user modification?

TwinSonics are really neat and still my favorite.

Ok, so I know what a 12X is and a 12F, what was the 12FX? Oh, let me guess, 12X on one side, 12F on the other?

12FX came from my home town fire engine. I traded a mx7000 for it.

the 12/12x bars had 12 endcap and 12x endcap on them each.

That vertical louvered/vented first generation Twinsonic speaker cover is uber rare. Never seen one in my 30+ years of dealing with lights.

That was the style pictured in early Federal bulletins and catalogs advertising the TwinSonic.

Ryan, are you starting a TwinSonic museum? Or maybe just create a repository for all TwinSonic information and trivia?

You have a 12F, maybe someone switched out endcaps.

first generation endcaps were all model 12. There were no options till 1970 when the X mirrors were introduced. From what I am gathering they used these endcaps with the 12 and electric F on them till late 70-early 71 when they changed to gen. 2
