Hi all,

New member here. I have been having trouble attempting to troubleshoot the make/model listed above. I thought I had followed the manual to a T for install but cannot figure out why nothing worked. I tested power and ground connections and power is flowing. However when I plug in my control head nothing lights up on the keys and no functions work. I tried another keypad and telephone wire same result. Anyone know where I should look next? Are there any other observations/symptoms you would like me to describe.

I don't think you can use a telephone wire, IIRC its a specific cable you need with a special pinout.

Correct, the SS2000 series requires a 4-conductor reverse RJ11 cable.

It most likely isn't unless it came from the fedsig kit or you ensured you purchased a reverse RJ11. They are not common at all.

Hold the two ends of the cable in the same orientation and compare the pin outs... if the color wires match, it is a standard phone cable. In a reverse cable, one connector should pin out the opposite from the other.

Hahaha! OMG our of all this frustration I’ve been messing with, wiring re wiring testing bending twisting and I just re wired the RJ11 In reverse. Works flawlessly. Now just when my fronts are on the speaker pops. Thanks guys. I can take it from here

Popping would likely indicate a bad ground.
