Hello everyone I need a little help. I had strobes installed in my truck over a year ago and a few months ago they have just stopped working. None of the fuses have blown but when I checked the wires I did notice that the housing on both positive wires were touching and the inline fuse melted but was still active. The wires are some what hard to find in the dash and I am not too sure how to take the dash apart. Can anyone please help ? Thank you

I would start by testing the power supply. First check the ground. Then try unplugging individual strobes to see if that makes a difference. It may be shutting down because of a short either in a wire or with a strobe itself, such as if you have water inside one of the housings.

If this didn't work, disconnect the power wires to it and hook it up to the battery using new wire for all of the positive connections (the connection directly to the battery and the switch wires) Cut that fuse out and replace it. If it doesn't work, then you have a dead unit. If it does, then your problem is somewhere in your wiring. It also may be possible that one of those "positive wires" that you described is a pattern wire and by taking it off constant power will get it to work again.

The switch might also be broken.

He said in the original that none of the fuses had blown and the inline fuse melted but was still active. I told him to replace that fuse, and assumed that since he said "fuses" that he had already checked the one on the unit.

I checked both fuses the installer up a fuse behind the switch which was the melted one I replaced it and the fuse on the unit its self was still good. I ran new lead wires to the unit along with new ground wires powered the wires and got no reaction from the unit. But now I have to find a new unit..... hopefully some what cheap
