StrobesNMore EBeacon as a Dashlight?

I was curious about the feasibility of using a Strobes N More Ebeacon or Ebeacon mini as a dash light, seeing as nobody seems to make a rotating-LED-beacon style dash light these days. Is there a preferred material (that's a little more elegant looking than black tape) that can cover the back of the light so only the front half that's facing the windshield is exposed? Or perhaps a rattlecan paintjob to the back half is the best option?

(Also hooray, I re-discovered where I wrote down my login credentials to the site yesterday. Happy to be back to lurk. Haha.)

Well, it turns out that an EBeacon with a vinyl adhesive flashback cover works pretty darn well! Painting half of the dome (and the top if you desire) matte black is probably the best approach for a more permanent solution. But the vinyl works fine, the flashback/reflection isn't hard on the eyes at all if you select the rotation or halogen-flasher-imitation pattern, and it even has a "pop" of light each rotation like a vintage halogen/incandescent model!
