I am going to be installing a SC1022 siren and will control my lighting with this as well. What I want is to have they system shut off when my key goes off. How is the best way to go about doing this. All my previous install stuff has been simple swithces, so I have never encountered this before.

Very basic answer - hook a relay to something ignition-triggered.  Have power for the siren & lights go through the relay.  No ignition, no lights or siren.

The SC-10XX series has an enable input built into it to turn the unit on with the ignition (if it's connected).  Its required to be connected to with the SC-1022 series (or the unit won't work), but optional with the 1002/1012 series.  It recommends tying into an ignition triggered circuit in the dash.

Good point. Does the enable input control the lights or just the siren?

I believe it controls/powers entire unit (lights and/or siren).  I pretty sure the handheld controller will not activate anything without power to the enable input wire.  I have a SC-1012 and any of the rocker switches on the control head turns on the unit (i.e. acts as the enable).
