The NYPD is notorious for over-the-top presidential & dignitary motorcades- it can so it does.
In 2000, on the Saturday night prior to Election Day, Slick Willie made his final campaign appearance for Algore in Harlem, I think it was the State Office Building or the Apollo Theater, both on 125 St. His departure motorcade would pass thru my command enroute to Chappaqua. I parked at a good vantage point to wait for it to pass. Counting only NYPD vehicles I stopped counting at 100, with still more to come in addition to USSS & FDNY*EMS vehicles.
