High school in uproar over 9/11 flags dumped by students who linked them to Blue Lives Matter movement

A controversy is brewing at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, after images on social media show flags that were placed on campus as a tribute to 9/11 first responders were pulled out and dumped in a trash can.

Jeez....cant do ANYthing without offending someone. Schools can be a touchy place to begin with. Some things missing in the article...did the erectors have permission from the school?, did the trashers have permission from the school? Where does the school admin stand and why?

I get the symbolism of the r/b striped flags, (we have a thin gold line one in our dispatch center), but if it was me I woulda done the good ole' Stars n stripes instead (just like what happened in the days after '01). It was a uniting moment for all, not just first responders.

Maybe put the r/b striped flags on the lawns of fire/police stations next year (with permission of course).

If I understand it correctly School administrators are staying away from commenting or anything on it and I believe they did have permission to put the flags on there just this group of students remember this is a Catholic high School objected to it thinking that it was part of the blue lives matter thing instead of 9/11 which is what it was for
