Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought red and blue are EMERGENCY VEHICLE colors, not 'Tactical Response whacker-mobile' colors?

i dont know about you guys but if i was a criminal saw a security guard tell me to do something i would probably laugh. especially if the security guard was trying to hard to look, act, feel like a cop i would probably not even use my gun as a criminal i would just make fun of the security guard until he removed his gun from his ebay special holster and shot himself in the face.

i got nothing against security guards... but i do hate those that try to hard to be something they are not if you really want to be a cop go to the academy and stop procrastinating.

You are not wrong. You are correct. If I find this car on the street, I will be most happy to show him just how illegally equipped vehicle drivers are received by the 'real' police.

I don't know what security guards are like where you're from, but they're a different breed up here.

There are a lot of them that are trying to be something that they aren't, BUT make no mistake, the armed guys that I've worked with are individually contracted, and don't F*** around. They have the authority to take you down by whatever means necessary if you do not comply. They receive Nextels that are direct linked to the PD for assistance. That's no joke.

Turns out this one is 2 miles from my house. No doubt I will be taking the long way to run errands, maybe I can bait him into lighting me up.

Did not know you had a post on this HILO, so I will respond here.

I find it interesting that they are "Dallas Tactical Response" and here at the gallery main page the picture of the city is Fort Worth skyline, not Dallas. Talk about lame, cannot even get the city skyline right from the name of your company. The Dallas skyline is 10x better with the Omni Hotel, BOA building and the Reunion tower.

I bet these guys would kill to have my Caprice looking at their fleet of whacker mobiles. Not as bad as some of the company security cars I have seen that people though where State Trooper cars.

In Texas a security guard has the same powers of arrest as an everyday citizen. Armed (commissioned) guard is just for personal protection and has not more authority over a non-commissioned guard. I do respect them when they show me respect, but if they try to act like a real Texas Peace Officer I make sure they know I am aware of 1702 of the occupation code on private security. I know of this as for about 4 years I was a commissioned security guard when I was between IT jobs. It was a job and a crappy one, but I knew I was NOT a cop and where to draw the line in confronting someone.

Re the CL ad: "1 license plate Bracket that says "PURSUIT VEHICLE

POLICE INTERCEPTOR"

1 Interceptor tab on back of vehicle that says "SHERIFF INTERCEPTOR"

Isn't that enough? Aren't the words POLICE or SHERIFF enough to show an intention to deceive?

yeah thats not the case here Seal Team 6 did not train these guys like your guys over there where your at. I think its a 1 week course and you can carry a gun around with a security badge here in Texas but as others have already stated above they have the same aresting powers as any other citizen.. only thing is these guys get to carry a piece in plain view and they like to streeetch the law a little by whacking out old crown vics with lights as if they had the ability to pull you over which is not the case. If i saw a security car behind me in a private parking lot trying to pull me over i would chuckle a little and continue driving.

Wow, I feel like calling him just to ask if he's going to fix the problems causing "check engine" and "brake" lights being on. :weird:

Yeah, picture looks like they are trying to be badass and the image of do not F with us.

One thing that bugs me the most is when I see a security guard making a stop at a C-store with their holstered gun that is illegal in Texas if not part of their patrol property. I have in the past confronted one that did not have his weapon and asked him why. He said he knew it was the law and that was all he was willing to tell me. Another time a security guard was in a QuickTrip with his weapon and after he left I told the employee of QT that it was illegal for him to be in here with his gun not being a Police Officer. Only made that comment one time, but I still randomly see a display of a weapon from security guards. I just let it slide when I see it, but if they cop an attitude I will not hesitate to call the police. Have never called, but I will if I have too.

"And here we see a gaggle of wannabe Cops, attempting to gain the interest of local females in order to further soil the Gene-pool. While they may appear dangerous, they will flee at the first hint of danger, often times relieving themselves to ward off any would be attackers."

It's as bad as my fire chief's son "Blister". Shows up after the works all done, 45 minutes after the initial call, rubs black on his face and quotes "Backdraft". :weird:

Just another $.02 worth. After some motion sickness pills I noticed he must not be talking with anyone improtant with that radio. It is an obsolete wideband Moto GM300. Unless the rest of his "team" is on FRS/GRMS. Hopfully not near the PS frquencies or the HAM band. :duh: :nono:

Really to tell you the truth I don't really mind them acting POLICE in a private parking lot of an apartment complex or something as long as it does not go into the roadway. They can have all the lights and sirens and pretty badges and uniforms all they want if they calm crime down and take calls for me... that's awesome one more piece of shit place I don't have to deal with or patrol in my opinion. We don't have any of these guys down here never seen one never met one the only guards I have seen are walmart security or game room casino security but they are usually not gun hoe tactical navy seal wanna bees like those guys in those pictures.

Or catching members in your department putting their helmets in outdoor fires or ovens just to make it look like they are weathered. Now that's a joke.

Years ago in Lubbock, long before LEDs, etc., were available, there was a guy I knew who bought a blue Federal Vitalite. He worked part-time for a private ambulance service, but tried to do roadside assistance on the side to make a little money; and that was his excuse for having the blue light. While blue alone in Texas was not illegal, he was cautioned not to run around with it on top, just to be safe. But this character didn't listen. He ran around with the blue light on top, and actually stopped people, as if he was a cop. I don't know for sure if he actually identified himself as such, but just stopping someone was enough i.d. LPD got some complaints, and a cop pulled him over. When he identified himself as being an employee of the ambulance co., the cop let him go and didn't question further. But LPD kept getting complaints, so their units were told to keep an eye out. One night a guy ran a stop sign right in front of the guy and he pulled him over. Guess what......it was an unmarked cop. Last time we saw him with the blue light (we think the undercover cop confiscated it).

Except that you would be out of jurisdiction and would then yourself be a poser. Hmmmm.........

Have you talked to this guy to see why he has this setup....maybe a vollie in your part of the county?

No I have not talked to him. With the exception of Cockrill Hill, there are no Volunteer FD's in my part of Dallas County, nor Tarrant County which is 2 miles away. We live in a heavily populated metroplex. There is no legal reason for him to have this set up.

I resent your derogatory comment. I don't know what your issue is with me, but I would drop it - now.

The person, that is the subject of this thread, works in the general area I work in and that I do have jurisdiction in. My original comment remains as an accurate statement as I have no tolerance for persons, with unauthorized and hence illegal equipment on their vehicles, being out on public roads.

If the wanna be is in TX and Retired is a TX LEO and he makes the stop then how is he out of jurisdiction?

1. I don't have an issue with the alleged poser or Retired1 as I am not in either location, know neither, and will never be affected by either.

2. The alleged poser is from TX. Retired1 states his location am NW Oklahoma.

I missed the derogatory comment. Which one?

No, it's not. At least not in TN or TX. I don't think anywhere else either.

Ooo. I wish I saw that one. Straight to jail he goes. It's one thing if security guards are driving cvpi but that license plate alone is enough PC to throw him in jail. Probably so in any state.
