A Texas Highway Patrol sergeant died in a car accident Thursday night in central Texas, the Texas DPS confirmed.
Sgt. William Keesee’s patrol car went over a guardrail and into a creek on Highway 84 near Goldthwaite, about 100 miles northwest of Austin. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Sgt. Keesee, who goes by Karl, was stationed in Brownwood. The DPS said he is the 217th DPS officer to die on the job in the department’s 185 years.
