Like your Peterbuilts, you do.511 is basically identical(cab is different, body is same) to a lot of Volunteer trucks we have in my county. We classify them as pumper/tankers,and they carry 1500 gallons. They are all older commercial cabs, like International and GMC Topkicks.I went to my first brush fire in one.

Yea, I believe that is our oldest truck as it stands. We actually have a Peterbilt dealership in the township so we get a really good deal on the chassis. We are actually going to be getting a new rescue truck here soon and I am very happy about that. The only real thing I don't like about the Peterbilt's is you just can't haul the people which then requires more POV's at a scene.

They look good - like the lightbars on all of them. Question - what's the big pipe looking thing sticking out of the back of two of the trucks?

Yes, wema is correct. They are discharges to quickly dump water out of the tanks into porta-ponds in non hydrant areas. 525 actually has three, one on each side, and one on the back which can be controlled from the cab. The other one, 511, has to be dumped manually by pulling the lever.

Also if you look at the picture of 525, you will see the big red tarp folded in metal, that's one of our porta-ponds. 511 has the other hidden away in her and the door to get it out is to the driver side rear which you can see in the rear photo. Very easy to set up, but often a bitch to put back.

Do you guys keep a low member count? Between those vehicles (unless you let members ride in the boat :) ) I count only 8 seats.

From the Chief down, right now we have 28 members. Yes, we only have 8 seats which requires quite a few of us to respond to the scene. Me personally, I am an EMT on the department and 9/10 end up being the medical OIC so I just go to the scene (as long as at least one truck has responded). This includes accidents, medical calls, and even fires. When I was a probie, all I did was rehab/bottle station as I was an EMT prior to being a firefighter. Hopefully we will be getting our rescue soon and we can then carry more personnel to the scene vs. having a ton of cars there.

What's wrong you could not find a pick up made by Peterbuilt LOL. I'm just kidding nice looking fleet and that is great that you have a fleet that maches for the most part. I like that it drives me crazy when places buy just whatever they can get their hands on. Very nice looking trucks I like them. :D

One of those trucks must carry alot of airpacks somewhere?

Actually yes! :) It's kind of interesting but 511 has 4 on a lazy susan type deal in the last compartment on the passenger side. 515 has 6 in the driver side top compartments, and 533 has 2 in the driver side front compartment. 525 on the driver side long compartment is home built PVC tubes for air tanks along with all the other little pop doors all over the rigs.

And for the life of me, I can't remember if it has another 4 on the driver side. I will check tomorrow and also take pics of all air compartments.

Thanks for all the compliments.

Looks good!

I think the lightbar on 533 looks odd on it. Maybe if it was an MX7K or a Freedom or something else. Just looks odd to me.

I think it's mostly just that it's a couple inches too high - if it was mounted lower it'd be fine. The clear domes don't help either IMO.

Looks like the new rescue unit has a Whelen siren. I like the slow rising wail tone.

New rescue looks good. What is the slide out compartment going to be used for on the driver's rear wheel well area?

533's light bar is a tad tall but throws light like no ones business. :) I think they did that to help clear the pump. The Petes are very tough looking. I love driving 'em.

Bigassfireman - The slide out compartment on the drivers side is for floor dry.
