WANTED: 1979/80 Restored MA Police car

Hi guys,


We are looking for someone to show a vintage/restored 1979/80 Mass police car at the MA Chiefs Show at the Royal Plaza Trade Center on April 2nd of this year. The vehicle would have to be there the day before.(April 1) MHQ started upfitting vehicles in 1979 and this is our 35th anniversary. We are looking to have a vehicle comparison between then and now. The vehicle needs to be as close to original equipment at the time. You are looking to rent this service I take it? I'm not sure I am clear on the request. You do not wish to purchase right? These sorts of requests are rare here, I'm trying to come up with some ideas to help you better get this noticed.

Hi John,


We are looking for the car to show at the Mass Chiefs Show in April to represent the 35 years we have been up-fitting police cars. It would be side by side with a brand new vehicle/up-fit to also represent the changes over the last 35 years. We are not looking to purchase. Also, being it is the MA Chiefs, we are not looking for a state police vehicle, but, rather, a local agency.

I understand now, you are looking for a then and now type thing, the perk is the person gets to display their car at the show with your for free. That's a cool idea, have you tried the professional car boards? I think this is the best spot for this thread, it's not a standard sort of request, but I like the idea. Good luck.

Hi John,


We think it will be rather cool and, as you know, for anyone who put in the time and money for one of these restore jobs as they would love to show the car off for all of the police chiefs. It's kind of like a badge of honor for them. Most of the time it is an actual retired member from the department who has brought a part of the department history to life. It would be even cooler if it was an original that came out of our shop back in the day. We are working with internal contacts as well but I figured this would be a great place to help spread the word here in Massachusetts as there has been a rather large amount of locals joining the site.


Thank you for the "luck" as it looks like we are going to need it haha..
