What kind of console could have been used?

Hello everyone,

I am restoring a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 at the moment. One of the parts that still give me a headache is the console. No one really knows what kind of console could have been used. You can still see the marks and shadows of the old console on the rubber floor but no one has an idea. Maybe you know what kind of console they used. The pictures are attached.

Would be great if anyone could help me out on this.

Best regards,
Tobi

MA State Police Caprices of the era had a sort of skeletal frame with radios and siren controller "stacked" inside, for lack of a better term. This sat on top of the transmission tunnel, right under the climate controls.

FWIW, the older GE Rangr low band control head, with its odd setup of dials on the top, sat on top of that stack of equipment. It was outfitted only into Caprices because the newer Motorola low band units (which were installed in the CVPIs of that time) would not fit in the configuration.

From what I recall, top to bottom, was the GE Rangr control head, single row of toggle switches for lights, Whelen 200 siren/PA, and Uniden BC760XLT scanner.

I was fortunate enough to drive one of the beasts for a short time, during my time with MSP at the turn of the century.

I forget the manufacturer but there was a console that had one or two tranny hump brackets that match that pattern that was a tree console- the base plate was attached to one or two brackets that bolted to the sides of the tranny hump, and a swiveling tree (pole) that s-shaped at the bottom so it could tuck under the dash center stack but the tree itself would off-set to rise vertically in front of the center stack with adjustable width brackets that could be stacked on the tree to hold components.
Alternatively, two separate hump brackets could have been used to mount a Havis, Gamber Johnson, Lund, Pro-Copper, etc console.

I think it was one of these "skeleton frames". I know which equipment (radios, lightbar controller/siren) has been used except the console. Would this help to identify the console?

The car also had a shotgun rack that was mounted on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel.

Dont know if it helps, but I also have a picture of an auction that shows a part that could belong to the missing console. The thing in the middle that looks like the roots of a teeth.

Maybe this helps to identify the console.

Unfortunately not, the lower part looks different compared to the marks in the car. Would be great if anyone has the name of the manufacturer and the model of the console i am looking for. Still hope that anyone here has an idea :)
