I'm sure it is safe to assume that the Purple Lens is a less common color across all the brands, at least my region. I have not come across any funeral homes using this color for their vehicles. Again it may be just my location. I like the color it produces when activated, definitely a destinct difference from the blue.

Seems to me, here in the central Virginia area, funeral homes started using purple lights around the start of the 21st century. They are still not all that common, I see them only once in a while.

I agree that purple lights are not widely used in the funeral service, even though it makes sense. Here in Ohio I I've noticed that there has been a change from the purple magnet flags for procession vehicles to safety orange flags, at least with a few of the local funeral homes. The laws are still on the books stating traffic is supposed to stop for the procession, although most don't.
