Am installing a Whelen 295 series siren in a 2011 GMC Sierra. Do I need to install a horn/siren relay or can I just connect the harness to the horn circuit?

Thanks for your help

A horn/siren relay is much better. I initially had my 295 series in my crown vic hooked up directly to the horn as instructed in whelen's manual and one day learned quite by surprise that I forgot to turn my siren off when I activated the HF feature of the siren while trying to lock it with the remote. Sent me sprinting back to my car to kill the siren quite quickly!

Yeah yeah yeah... it was fairly amusing, especially because my first initial thought was to double tap the lock button hoping it would act quick enough to disable the HF feature. NOPE! Just switched my siren over to phaser :hissyfit:
