Hi,

I have a Whelen 500 series light bar and want to change the light pattern. The manual stated to apply 12v to the white/violet wire. I did that but the pattern on the light bar doesn't change.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Are you holding power to the white/violet for about 1 second?
If you have a model number that might help a little better. But Whelen does use the white/violet for many moons as the pattern change wire.
You might have a harness that the white/violet wire isn’t hooked up in the bar also. Would you be able to open the bar up and look?

Also are you trying to change the pattern while it is on? Typically the scan lock bars need to be flashing in order to change the pattern. Any lights activated “should” change pattern when applying power quickly to the scan lock wire (white w violet tracer).
also, holding power more than one second to scan lock should back up to the previous pattern, and so on.
