I am having some trouble with a Whelen Alpha SL siren I recently installed in an F250. When I activate the tone, I just get a constant popping sound coming from the 100w speaker. If I attempt to toggle the tones with the push button on the siren amplifier, I get silence. If I apply power to the switch again, the popping sound continues. I am at a loss here. I have checked the ground and the wiring diagram. The siren control is wired to the ford upfitter switch and I have tried two different 100w speakers with the same result. Any suggestions?[ICODE][/ICODE]

Are you able to remove the siren from the vehicle and bench-test it? Does the siren function normally on the bench?

Bench testing should be first on your list. Until you confirm that the siren works on your bench, any other testing will be nothing more than blindly guessing.

Exactly how many amps is the activation wire drawing?

Right now it is wired to an upfitter switch that has a 60A output.
