Whelen Core Ignition Sense

I'm in the process of installing a Cencom Core on my POV (2020 Ram 1500) and need to know if ignition sense can be accomplished with CAN or do I need to run the signal wire.

Any help would be appreciated before I tear my truck apart again.

You need a physical input wire to turn Core on. If you just want a toggle switch or something like that to turn it on, you can. Once its on, you can find ignition sense via Canport in the event programming.
