Stupid Question time..
I have located a replacement dome for a Whelen Corporal..
Getting the old dome off was easy.. putting a new one back on is taking more physical effort then I am comfortable with considering the materials.

Any tips or tricks?

Thanks,

Rob

ALWAYS Loosten the nuts under the base first. If there is too much pressure on the pins when the nuts are tight, (that sounds like the case), then raise the legs up a little, and lower the socket the same amount to give perfect beam focal point. PM me for my phone #, if you need more help.

So I had 2 issues, 1 I believe is solved.
The main issue is still outstanding.
Getting the brass pop rivets on the dome, or whatever you want to call them to lock into the lamp supports.

It should not take an unusual amount of effort to get it to go back into place, as it did not really take a whole lot of effort to get them out in the first place.

At this point, I have the dome on the beacon and it works for display purposes, but its not installed correctly.

I am probably doing something silly, but as per dmathieu's instructions I loosened the nuts in the base holding the bulb supports struts, but it does not seem to make any difference, there is still just too much tension.

with great Huzzah! and some assistance from @dmathieu the dome is back on.
I have some fine tweaking to do, to get the bulb lined up just right.

As I expected I was doing something silly. DOH!
