Hey All,
I just bought a Whelen LFL patriot lightbar for $125.
Ive posted on many of the facebook groups for emergency lighting and people have told me a few different things to try to no avail.
This lightbar will not change flash patterns no matter what I try. The white-purple wire will not change flash patterns, ive tried resetting the personality module and now have that completely removed(unless im not doing the right sequence). the kicker is when positive 12 volts it steadily applied to the white-purple wire it changes to a different flash pattern until it is removed from positive 12 volts then right away goes back to the pattern it was originally on. the strobe pattern change wire just flat out will not change their pattern as well and the Whelen lightbar book says it should have quite a few.
Please help! ps. I am new into lighting and am an amateur at figuring this stuff out.
Thanks in advance,
Nick

Nick, do you have a few photos of the guts? It sounds like maybe there has been some altering or maybe replaced parts inside. Or it could just be old and malfunctioning.

The white/purple should change the flash pattern when momentarily held to power and stay on that pattern. Have you tried changing the pattern on the different trigger wires (arrow stick or rear only activation)?

As for the strobe, that too should have many patterns. Since that is not working either, it may have been altered or malfunctioning.

Of course it could be user error by something you are inadvertently doing as well

Dip switches are usually white in a small housing. See attached photo. Sounds like the bar was altered due to the date discrepancies. Photos would help try to diagnose...

You have a chip on the board 69047 is on the chip, that has to be removed to change pattens, however that chip is what needs to be reprogrammed to set up patterns, you have to remove power then remove that chip then repower and now you should be able to change pattens, if you remove power amd reinstall that chip it will go back to what it was programmed at whelen,

Not to sound silly but this appears to be a LED Bar not a strobe bar combo based on that board he's showing and did he check the fuses as well that I see onboard.
