Whelen Liberty Lights

Whelen LFL Liberty light heads, all in good working order. 4 Blue corners, 6 Blue heads, 6 amber heads, 2 halogen take downs and 2 halogen alleys.. These are the ballast type (I think) they do not flash on their own when hooked to power. I will sell them all together or separate. The lens are yellowed some but complete, I will sell them cheap also. The feet and straps look good also. Open to offers as I don't know the value of these.

List Date: 12/2/2016

Just based off the date its possible they are ballast heads . However Im not seeing a power supply in the bar. Future reference the easiest way to tell on the linear inner heads is to count the diodes. 8 diodes its ballast; 6 its passive.

Passive heads will not flash on their own. The difference between ballast and passive is this: ballast heads were in the dawn of led heads in lightbars; and they required a seperate power supply just to power them, simply applying 12v power to the head would not power the head without the supply. Whereas passive heads will power on and "steady burn" when 12v power is applied. They do not require a power supply to power on.

All of these heads were flashed by the circuit board in the bar; the I/O board. Passive heads can be flashed using any led flasher, and even some halogen flashers (do not use a HLF flasher however).

I hope this helps

The amber modules pictured are depopulated, with just four of the six diode positions filled. These are passive modules.

According to the info from Dave F I think they are passive. All of them will light up and steady burn with 12v. The board was intentionally hooked up wrong out of spite. I thought about a custom bar with just an led flasher and a few relays. But in my area only law enforcement can use blue so even a complete bar is worthless to me. I just want it all out of the garage.
