Just in reference to an old thread at http://elightbars.org/forums/threads/reducing-speaker-volume-for-siren-testing.628/ where people said there was no speaker in Whelen units but rather inductor/coil whine, here is what the the manual for the 295SLSA6 (and similar) says...
"A low level audio device is built into the siren so siren tones can be heard during programming."
I have heard this same in the 295HFSA6... although not explicit, I suspect the same "device" is built onto those boards as well.
