Wondering if any of you have used Wiser - Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders.

I've just installed it on my laptop, and was wondering what other users opinions are on it.

Here is a link for those who have not heard of it, and would like more information or what not.

Thanks for the linkage. currently downloading it on my smartphone. Hopefully I remember it's there, seems like a good thing to have (even though I carry an ERG) with me so I can get as much info to firefighters as possible before they arrive.

I think it would be great for those with smart phones or those responding to hazmat incidents with mobile laptops, etc.

Great program from what I can see..

I have it on my laptop (PC only version right now as far as I know) and on my iPhone. It is a great program. Full of tons of info and lots of great contacts for the "oh shit" situation. The program for laptops is a great program and you can link into Bing maps within the program to get satellite mapped evacuation areas and areas of concern for your exact location/incident location so you know exactly where in your community is likely to be affected. Hopefully I'll never need it, but living in chemical valley and being one of the first due departments to one of the worlds largest DuPont plants, it's possible, though thank goodness each plant has a Haz-Mat team and we also have our regions Regional Response Team Haz-Mat response vehicle to help us in the "oh shit" situations.

I have it installed on all our mdt's at the department as well as the workstations in our Com Center. Like Aberfitchguy said, it's one of those things you'll likely never need but if you do you'll be glad that it's there.

Damn, I downloaded the "installer for Pocket PC" then went to install it and it says "Not a valid Pocket PC program".

Wiser is a great program to use, as long as you use it along with other sources. It is a fairly simple, and quick resource. As a HazMat tech, I can tell you I will use it as one of my 5 resources at an incident. It is really nice on some of those "expected" or "easy" calls, because you can save information and find it even faster.

Well, now I use it! Half this stuff we never really hear of around here. Up until now I kept 911 toolkit and iMeds on my front screen. Wiser and iMeds will stay...

I agree. I'm also a Tech and I use Wiser, CAMEO, ALOHA and MarPlot together... I like 'em.

I have had it on every smartphone I have owned the IPHONE format was the best but the DROID one is a link to the mobile online site and is not a fully integrated program =( Like MATT3045 said it counts as 3 out of 5 resources for a Hazmat tech because of all the cross referencing it does with other resources within the software. Probably the second best program I have on my phone
