Hey everyone. I have a Motorola XTS1500 and a Jeep wrangler. During the summer months when the top and doors are off, I can barely hear my radio. Does anyone know of a speaker/amplifier that motorola or another company makes that is compatible with the XTS adapter and that I can mount to the sound bar or console in my vehicle? I want to be able to connect the radio while I'm in the car but quickly disconnect it when I get out. Thanks!

A Google search tells me a convertacom is well into the hundreds of dollars. Any more economical ideas? But thanks for the idea though, Chris!

Upon actually checking my Motorola account, they don't make a convertacom/xtva for the 1500 anyway.  It's only for the larger xts radios ie 3000,3500,5000.  DOH!  Only other thing I can think of is connecting an amplified external speaker to a 3.5mm headphone adapter.

Any chance you can send me a PM with some additional info, and potentially a quote for the equipment?

Just about any Motorola (or other brand) amplified radio speaker should work.

You might have to swap the connector to work with your portable, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

It shouldn't cost more that $30 or so (probably much cheaper).
