9004-LS question

I am doing a teardown on a 9004-SL - as received, the power supply was missing. This part was mounted inside, and wiring harness included. Any information on this piece and whether it has use in another bar would be appreciated.

Looks like flasher to me. Control input would be the 4 position connector. Then I put would be the two 3 position.

But I am no expert, and I don’t have any documentation to confirm.

Appreciate that. I think I will set up stuff so I can test this; may play a part in my next build. Do you think incandescent use only, or strobe as well?

Did some digging. Had a random thought as to where to find the document. And found a similar era edge bar.
This is for the 9000-AK. Which is similar to the 9000-SL.
In this it shows two flashers. One at 200 flashes per minute and one at 400 flashes per minute. One flasher does front outer halogen flashers. The other flasher does front and rear inner flashers.
But it will at least tell you what each pin does so you can wire it up appropriately. It on the last page.

Thanks much for that diagram! Mine is marked as an SL, but this diagram will be VERY helpful.

That's interesting, what is it that determines the flashers speed??? I have one of those on a green board, it was supposedly able to handle 4 lights total, interesting the lead in hookups, I wonder if it's the same flasher and connecting a different input changes the flash rate...

I don’t know. I haven’t seen one in person. And looking at the drawing I can’t tell a difference. You could be right about the input.
And the drawing shows 2 heads on one flasher and 4 on the other. But I bet you could hook 4 to either one.

That's a halogen flasher, I always have to look at the wiring when I use one. Ranger Services probably knows them by heart.
