Fire Chief Eddie Johnson Jr., 45, was en route to a structure fire west of town when he lost control of his vehicle, went off roadway, hit a driveway approach, and rolled his vehicle multiple times.

Chief Johnson was also a police officer for the city of Alton, and a reserve deputy for Oregon County, Missouri.

Eddie left behind a wife and three children.
