Can someone demystify the time ranges for solid vs perforated chassis covers on FS Director and Interceptor sirens? Thanks!

PA5 and PA10: solid covers

PA15 and PA20: short solid covers with removable mounting bracket

Early PA15A (1B, 1C, 1D, late 1960s): long solid cover with cross hatch grille at the back and welded on mounting brackets

Early PA20A (2B, 2C, 2D, late 1960s): long solid cover with cross hatch grille at the back and removable mounting bracket

Early PA15A series 1E and PA20A series 2E: solid covers with removable mounting brackets (rare, early 1970s)

PA15A series 1E and PA20A series 2E (mid 1970s until end of production): perforated covers

The PA15/PA15A covers were painted beige and the PA20/PA20A covers were painted light grey/white speckle.
