Not really the "greatest car chase ever," but lots of old school, heavy-duty metal-on-metal destruction. And for the enthusiast: plenty of can lights, steady red spotlights, big 4 lamp beacons with rear amber lollipops, CTSs, plus a groovy vintage dispatch center and righteous 'staches and sideburns. Disappointingly, the sirens are all generic dub-ins.

My question for the experts concerns the black and whites (for example at 18:14) with only flashing red to the front. Is this apparent violation of the CA steady-red standard historically accurate, or Hollywood error?

Most TV shows, movies, and books are not accurate with EV lighting. Most of the vehicle and equipment suppliers purchase the used equipment from agencies, and get lucky with them being set up already. But how many times have we seen a TV show or movie set in another state, with California reds? Look at Chicago Fire VS Chicago PD. Chicago Fire has the traditional green on the fire vehicles, yet Chicago PD has chinese junk light bars without beat tags on the squads (and all the cop cars have paint on all body panels) when CPD has beat tags Edge bars and Code 3 bars. The average movie/TV viewer has no idea what a steady burn light is, or what brand of lights are on a vehicle.
