"Google Glass: where is the well that Timmy fell down? How deep is he? Which low angle gear should I remove from the truck? How do I tie a Swami?"

"Google Glass- at what temperature will you start to melt to my face/head?"

Great idea overall, would def need some major revisions for fire service. Maybe combine it with the mask.. kinda like a HUD... Would make for excellent safety by showing your and other colleagues locations in a smoke filled building.. and instant IC updates/mointoring, hook up some temp sensors as well.

I was thinking that too. It would be cool if they could make it a HUD that you could switch from the interior of goggles and the SCBA mask.

Just got to say that was a pretty kickass video. Pretty epic. Then again, I just streamed it to the home theater.

I think those glasses will get more attractive as time goes on. If this concept can be used as shown in the video and offer a large range of resources for first responders I think it will catch on.

Seems like every other poster has the same idea that sensitive electronics made of plastic doesn't quite work with a hot fire. I thought I remembered seeing something about one of the SCBA companies coming up with a fairly detailed HUD, maybe just incorporate the software?
