Border patrol agent Vega was murderd sunday night in Willacy County Texas while fishing with his family. Agent Vega died protecting his family from a attempted armed robbery by two mexican nationals. Agent vega and his father fought off the armed suspects with gunfire causing an exchange of gunfire between the two groups. Agent vega was shot in the chest and his father was hit in the hip area but both continued to fire. At one point agent vegas mother picked up a AR-15 rifle and opened fire on the suspects as well. The suspects fled the scene but ditched the bullet riddled vehicle a mile down the road due to well placed shots in the radiator by the vega family. The family rushed the wounded agent and father to the hospital by personal car all the way to a Harlingen Hospital. The suspects were cought hours later in a small garage by US border patrol BORTAC units. They are in custody at this time at the Willacy County jail.

I assisted in the search due the suspect vehicle being found near my county line Agent Vega and his family did a heck of a job with the bullet placement and grouping of Rounds on the vehicle some of the best shooting i have seen. Agent vega you will be missed RIP.
