it's amazing how many things the government outsources to private contractors. One would think that something along the lines of military police would be utilized for guarding such a facility

I like the Waterford striping package, but those PARs look awkward there IMO

The feds can get the same security at a savings by using private contractors. Also KAPL (Like most facilities) is operated by Fed Contractors.

Does...does that DHS truck have a rocket on the front?

looks like a raise up mast for a camera or something....

there is an amateur radio antenna on the back for HF frequencies.... the antennas on the roog are mag mounted... one of them is a radio shack scanner antenna LOL

It's also a radio mast, also no lights or sirens in this vehicle.

It was a new Expedition and sometimes you'll find vehicles from HQs with plates that usually sit on a shelf in an office. That Expedition has since been lit up and now has civilian plates. The Radio Shop Tahoe has a Flatlighter only. Radio Shop is a civilian Unit.

I really like all the unmarked units in this batch!

Is the Black Tahoe with the gov tag 2150P a federal LE agency or MP?  It looks like fed LE, but the logo above the LP looks like a military unit logo.

Who operates the Blue F450?  I would guess federal DHS since it has red/blue on all sides.

Also, Who does the silver explorer with NY tags belong to?  I like the side lighting in the roof rack?

Probably the USMA Commandant's vehicle or the garrison or brigade commander's vehicle. The emblem above the license plate is a unit patch on a cover that goes over the Colonel's eagle or general's star(s) plate. The cover comes off when that officer is in the vehicle so others can render military courtesy (e.g., saluting).

The Black Tahoe is the Commandants car I believe of West Point.

The blue F450 with the utility box and satcom belongs the the 2nd WMD-CST out of Stratton ANGB.

The silver Explorer (which there was also a black Taurus) is a security detail, possibly for the Superintendent. There were drivers in the cars at all times.

Yes. That's the Military Academy patch. I really didn't watch who got into what car.

Really digging the stealth all-black Troop D Tahoe, and the SUNY NGPI utility all-black scheme (like the DEC Police striping).  Who's the slicktop Tahoe (with civi plates and rims) assigned to?

The black Tahoe with.... old rims belongs to DOCCs and is probably one of the bosses.

What is that white sprinter from the last update?  It has NYS Plates, but an Orange County DES seal on the side of it

Yea. kinda scratch my head on that everytime I see it. It belongs to State OEM but might have been loaned to Orange County at one point.

I really love how NYSP's newer NGPIs have both side PB and sidekick lighting (such a HUGE improvement over the lack of side warning from the CVPIs, other than the HAWs up front).

Now, if ONLY they would go back and put ions in all the sidekick spots and on the sides of all PBs of vehicles that currently have no warning there (not that I ever see that happening) I would be a happy camper; on the other hand, if they went one step further and put mirrorbeams on everything (since the SUVs and other sedans don't have sidekicks) then I would be super happy!!!

Most Interceptors in our Troop are pretty much done with putting in service and now are just Chargers coming in, except Thruway who must have bought a crap load of PIs as they are still putting them in service.

All new vehicles have the Setina LED pushbumpers with side warning incorporated into those.

What're the unmarked black super dutys for?

Also, it's hard to see on my phone but the green super dutys above look like they say "environmental conservation" on the sides, but it looks like a different logo than the NYSEC police. Is that the old logo?

The black unmarked Super Dutys belong to DHSES and those are Forest Ranger pickups.
