Speaking of such things, does anyone know of a good source for 24 volt DC power supplies (step-down transformers from 120 VAC) that aren't super expensive? I have a 24 volt light I'd like to display in operating condition.

might be better off finding a 12- 24v convertor after the 110... or run 2 batteries in parallel but charge in series.

If you are using 12 volt power supplies like many, all you need to purchase is a step up converter from 12 to 24 volts. I got this one on Ebay. It was the cheapest one from a US seller.
