RCMP Police Service Dog 'Bo', Richmond British Columbia

Tuesday morning, 1:30am, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Service Dog 'Bo' was killed in the line of duty in an automobile accident. Bo and his handler were responding to a robbery call when their vehicle struck a civilian vehicle at Westminister Highway and No. 7 Road in Richmond. The police vehicle struck a hydro pole after colliding with the civilian vehicle. The occupants of the civilan vehicle and Bo's handler were uninjured, but sadly, Bo died of his injuries on scene.

This serves as a tragic reminder to always yeild for emergency vehicles. Deaths such as this one are completely avoidable, yet they continue to occur far too often.
