I haven't followed the generational upgrades- can someone explain the practical difference(s) between a 2nd gen version(original rubberized keypad) SmartSiren and the current gen Platinum version besides software programmability and Unitrol tone capability?

More relays/outputs (a couple low/high selectable), inputs added, better keypad, external fuses and wiring, timers, convergence ports, diagnostic LEDs(on 3000), PA mic jack on keypad instead of amp... I'm sure I missed something, but that's a majority.

Compatibility with their newer products as well is something to consider.

Mainly, tactile feedback. When you press it, you know it's pressed. The old rubber buttons were a guessing game as sometimes they beeped, sometimes they didn't

Additionally, buttons can be moved around and configured vs the old where everything was where it was like it or not.

Always have been curious about the manual tones getting higher pitched on the newer models. Certainly sounds that way, can anyone confirm or deny?
