Tell me everything about getting EMT-B certified in NYC

Do any of my fellow NYC elightbar-ers have any advice as to where to start in order to get my EMT-B certification and hired in NYC? I'm clueless as of now, so I'd like to know what to do and what definitely not to do. Give me any pointers that you think will help me out, I'm trying to get my sh#t together, and in high gear too.

Join your local Volunteer agency (EMS or Fire) you can then qualify to go to EMT on a state voucher as long as you maintain membership status its free. Message me or post here where you are in NYC and I can help I'm a Chief at a NYC Dept
