They deploy it to disaster areas (floods, ice storms, etc) to handle the multitudes of claims that come in following these events.

That sure is a nice looking truck! Must be an awesome department to have such nice equipment! And I'm sure their firefighters are nothing but the best! ;)

That's funny how the Montreal ones have ONLY blue lights on the right side and ONLY red ones on the left side; American ones would at least make sure you can see every color from every angle (except amber in back of course).

As far as I can tell, it has always been this way. Even as they are upgrading with leds in their MX7000 (taking out inner-most rotator and placing LEDs instead) and HAW in the brake lights, they stick to red-left, blue-right fashion.

One detail regarding the SPVM (Montréal City Police) is the command light. The supervisor's cars (usually van-style, like the old Dodge Caravan they used for a while) had a single Code 3 550 blue beacon on the back of the passenger side. I now see the exact same thing but they seem to have replaced all those blue domes with green ones.

This is brand new. It replaces this 1991 Ford 35C

The new unit has only been in-service for a month and is available for use by any agency in Richland County and the area. The first day it was in-service, it went to Shelby PD for their dispatchers use during the floods.

A bar under the cap, and a bar on the cap? Seems like a bit of a waste. But let me guess - grant funded, right?

Doug, I dont know. The last command center (the old ambulance) was donated and funds were raised. They likely did fundraisers for this one also.

I'll ask next time I'm back at my family's place, I grew up down the road in Galion and my family owns and runs a restaurant in Mansfield (everyone with a badge stops in for coffee and a burger).

The vehicles look like toys at that angle and the sunlight added to the effect! Real well done photo!

That tractor-trailer set-up is nuts  .

Yeah when I first saw this I wondered where they got those cool models
