Well, BJ traded in his 2005 Silverado a couple weeks ago... And this was what he got...

Installed Equipment: (so far)

- Galls XL-400 Digital Switchbox

- Motorola PM400 Mobile

- Whelen ULTRA Edge Lightbar (12 strobes, Rear Flashers, Alleys & TDs)

- Whelen Dual Talon

- Code 3 LED T/A

We also still have a pair of Whelen TIR-3s, pair of Split LIN-6s, and a pair of 700s to install... 700s will most likely go in the grill, insure about the TIR-3s and LIN-6s yet...

Here are some pics!!! (Click for larger image)

looks good. I like the strobe bar with the LEDs as mid level lighting. Personal preference.

700s for the grille, tir3s on a 10-75 bracket and place the lin6's on opposing sides of the traffic arrow on action flash! Looks like a nice clean install...as usual ;)

Ya know how close you are to whats going to happen lol..Tirs on an LP bracket for rear, 700s in grill, i was thinking of using my 500s in my rear side windows. i MAY add something to the rear. Cause id like to have some warning while my hatch is open.

Rear side windows would be a good choice as well as the tir3s would be nice on the rear LP. All in all it is a nice install so far and wherever you decide to place the extra warning you have will be nice. Maybe a good taillight flasher or HAW in the rear to give a wider footprint of light.

We recently added a pair of Whelen 700 Series Linear Lightheads to the grille of the Durango (Thanks Bahstun!!!)... They were non-sync versions, so we had to canabalized the Whelen ULF-22 out of the custom SVP DL-16... LoL After getting a set of lenses off eBay, we were set for install... The longest part of the instal was deciding which grille sections to put them in... LoL

Anyway, here are a couple of quick pics... For some reason my phone wouldnt upload the pics to photobucket, so I stole these from BJ's FaceBook...

Here's some updated pics and an updated video... Same equipment, but we changed the mounting of the T/A... Might be adding some equipment in the near future...

We finally got to add BJs Whelen TIR-3s to the rear of his Durango... Nothing fancy, just the pair of TIR-3s on a SNM LP Bracket...

ai64.photobucket.com_albums_h191_tritontim47_B_20and_20B_20Lig727672a5e081c6cf662d4d4b7e92d8e1.jpg

And before anyone gets all "I can't believe you mounted horizontal lights vertically!!!" These are actually Vertical Mount Whelen TIR-3s that he bought from be years ago... lol

And here's a quick vid...

We also removed the Whelen ULTRA Edge from the Durango... We're in the hunt for a new lightbar, so we took off the ULTRA to get it ready to sell... I'm letting him use my Whelen L32 for the interim... lol

Is the guy in the video about to plug the hole in the roof, where the lightbar cable came in?

That would be BJ...

He's actually tucking in the wires for the mini bar we planned on putting up there... But all the magnets we had were too weak, so we ordered new Mags. Instead of having to tear everything apart again to run the wires, we ran them now and put a plug on the roof. So when the mags come in, we can get them on the bar and get the bar on the roof...

The way we had the cables for the ULTRA run as follows:

- 2 separate holes drilled to the size of the control and power cables in the inside of the roof rack rail.

- 1 hole drilled in the roof under where the roof rack rail sits, then sealed after cabled were run.

I'm currently in the process of building BJ a Custom Liberty... Here's its progress so far...

Components are:

- 4 Whelen Extended Corners, Blue

- 4 Whelen LIN-6 Heads, Blue (Front)

- 1 Whelen CON-3 Head, White (Front center, acting as a TD)

- 2 Whelen LR-11 TD Lights (Front)

- 2 Whelen LR-11 Alley Lights

- 2 Whelen TIR-6 Heads, Blue (Rear)

I have a couple of options I'm thinking of for the front: (the open spots will be the LR-11s, just waiting for them to arrive)

Option #1:

ai64.photobucket.com_albums_h191_tritontim47_Lightbar_20Projec67a7159e0f68b5969256ac5f3a176a33.jpg

Option #2:

ai64.photobucket.com_albums_h191_tritontim47_Lightbar_20Projecf84f3020b0dbbe4c79ca7e2dfd06402a.jpg

Option #3:

ai64.photobucket.com_albums_h191_tritontim47_Lightbar_20Projec494d188d2ec279bd44efecdb442c950c.jpg

The rear will be de-populated since you cant see much of the rear of the bar on his Durango anyway...

I'll post back with updates... I'm waiting on a I/O board to ship (Thanks GPC!!!) then I can shoot some vids...

I like all 3 of the white heads in the center. If you spread them out, the white is going to wash out the blue from a distance.

As per the law, we can't run white while responding... They will be primarily TDs...

I personally like the TD's to be as far apart as possible to spread the light out. Especially as this won't be used on traffic stops but more for scene lighting and similar tasks so a super strong single "beam" isn't as important as a flood light type of thing... you know what I mean!

It's looking like Option #1 will be the winner... Thats the one BJ picked... Now I just have to wait for the LR-11s and I/O board to arrive and get a new lens kit then she'll be ready to install...

I would have gone with 2, but 1 is still better than 3! :fangirl:

Made a little more progress with the bar today... I got an LR-11 Alley & TD kit off of eBay for $125 shipped (direct wire add-on for a Justice Bar) so now all the lightheads are in the bar... The alleys were easy to install since the frame I'm building this bar from came with MR-11 Alley lights... I simply inscrewed the MRs and replaced them with the LRs...

ai64.photobucket.com_albums_h191_tritontim47_Lightbar_20Projeca9321b2efef7b464b4638b5148a73453.jpg

The TDs were a little trickier... lol What I did was take the bucket that the MR-11 bulb was housed in and use that... I took out the MR-11 bulb, and the bulb socket which left me with basically a stand... I inverted the LR-11s and mounted them to the top side of the bucket and then just screwed the bucket into one of the channels in the bar...

Now I'm just waiting on an I/O Board (that should be shipping this week), the lens kit I ordered (also "should" be shipping this week) and the White CON-3 (that should be arriving this week)... Then she'll be ready for testing...
