I have a Whelen Advantedge 4000 that is halogen/Rotator/Rotator/Scene light/Halogen/Scene light/Rotator/Rotator/Halogen. It goes on the back of a ambulance I am looking to upgrade to all LED we have been having problems with the rotators freezing up. Has anyone done it yet if so can i get some help. The halogens im not really to worried about just making up the bracket to hold a 700 or 2 400s is going to me the hard part.

I had to do that to a customers bar on an ambulance. They had already purchased Welden LED's which I wasn't crazy about but they fit. I had to order a bunch of internal mounting parts to secure the light heads. If I remember right Whelen 600 and 700 series LED's will fit.

There are a few threads on this, but 700 and 400 series LEDs either snap or slide in easily. Resist the urge to stick smaller leds in or to relamp halogen roators with leds.

John you don't think I should replace the rotators with 700s? Because I don't have to meet KKK standards or NFPA because the vehicle is a traffic unit under the police department.

Some older content has been lost to the interweb unfortunately. Do you have a specific question regarding the OP?

Yea, our support unit has 2 bad rotators on it, was thinking of replacing them with Leds. I was mostly wondering if 1 or 2 700's were needed to replace the one rotator because of the mirror size.
