I just got a L31 beacon, L31HAM. It is magnetic with only a cig plug with power and ground. I'd like to change the pattern but the harness for that side is missing.

The guide says what wires do what, but not which position they are on the plug to the board. Does anyone know? Or is there a jumper on the board for this model instead of a wiring harness?

This isn't uncommon with cigar plug ones. Can you post a pic? I can probably tell you which wire it is.

Okay, there are two plugs on the bottom of the control board inside the light. One is a four pin plug. The other is a two. Two is power and ground. Your cigarette plug cord is likely hooked only to those. If you have a spot to insert a female side four pin plug, the the colors are listed below and I posted a picture of what order they are when facing the plug side that has the raised line on it. You should be looking for the white wire with the violet stripe which would be the second position in this plug.

The plug would look like the one shown below. The wire you're looking for would be the second from the point of view of this picture.

Be careful, assembling and disassembling your light because there are pins that run between the board and the lightheads, three of them at each corner.

If for some reason you happen to have a model of the light that did not come with the secondary plug, the pin pictured below would be the one you would need to tap 12 volt power to in order to cycle the pattern.
