yeah i agree, B/A to the rear is great. blue is a cool color, and amber is a contrasting warm color.
And more importantly, they're not red so they don't blend in with taillights and the ubiquitous flickering red glow of the modern fire apparatus.

I really wish SC would pass a law like NY and allow blue to the rear of all emergency vehicles, I think the color contrast between the standard red on the rear of a vehicle with a blue light really stands out and identifies it better.

Greg, I have said that same exact thing, well more like a single blue light to the front and a single blue to the rear.

So, fedsig has it set up so the Valor bar will only do the "cruise" function if It's connected to a SmartSiren 3000 Platinum. Well I'm only running a SS2000 so I decided to try and create my own cruise lights. I ordered 18 of these self contained 12v LEDs for less than $40. In theory, All I have to do is mount them inside the bar where they can utilize the existing reflectors, and run a wire to a separate switch. I'll keep you guys posted with my progress once they get here

So I decided to open up the bar so I could see how much space I would have to mount the new LEDs (there's plenty ). Once I had the lens off, I noticed an old can of PlastiDip Smoke lens spray I had lying around. So I said "what the hell" and ended up smoking the lens on the Valor. Anyway, I hate it, but I'm gonna leave it on at least until I add the custom cruise lights. After that I'll just Peel it all right off. I think it dulls the look of the bar and cuts the intensity, a little. It's still bright. Thoughts?

While it does add quite a bit of stealthyness, It's not worth it IMO . It's coming off. Just like it did on the M7s.

Now that it's all dried and cured, it looks even worse. I was gonna wait to Peel it off until the cruise lights came in, but I don't think I'll be able to look at it that long.

Yeah. It looks much darker now. . Maybe I'll Peel it off, tape off the area right in front of the reflectors and re spray it.

OK, the LEDs arrived today and I've been working on them since. They came with adhesive pads on the base of them. I mounted them to the top of the reflector just like they Come from fedsig. I ran a power wire from the light bar to the smartsiren. The cruise light function is now wired independently of the bar and can be turned on at any time.

And Federal Signal told me it couldn't be done. HA!

Looks like cruise lights to me... what do u think..?

They're very dim during the day light. I'll snap a pic. Stand by.

Yeah, I've used them before for a different application, so I knew what I was getting into. I'll be out tonight so I'll see how they perform in the field, but from what little I played with them last night, I think they're perfect.

ok, new updates coming soon to the VALOR bar... here's my thoughts...

im gonna take the Cruise Lights a step further. Im going to add a "DUO" feature. I want to add amber LEDs to the front, and red LEDs to the rear. So in essence, When I turn on my parking lights, there would be amber glowing to the front and sides, red to the rear, like marker lights. Then with the fip of a switch, It would disable the amber/reds and activate the blue. I could use the blue while on scene somewhere, and use the amber/reds any other time, or only in bad weather, whenever I want. I really like the blues, but its not really practical to drive around with them on all the time. The marker lights on the other hand...

thoughts??..

I've got my inner edge setup to come on in cruise mode with my dome lights or a switch. I figured it'd be cool because I don't have clearance lights up top. I love it coming on when I unlock the truck. However, I find that I rarely use it when driving. The fact that the inner edge doesn't go all the way to the outside of the windshield kinda eliminates it as an accurate marker light. Plus I'd rather not draw any unnecessary attention. I staggered my cruise lights in an effort to make it look like clearance lights. I don't know if you'd want to do that with the whole v-shape, but it's a thought. You've got a good eye, so whatever you end up doing I'm sure will be sick.

That's a cool idea. I think I'm gonna do just the corner modules like I have now. A bunch of the wreckers out here are running amber cruise lights and it looks good. Should I do amber front and rear or do u like the idea of red to the rear?
