Spent my birthday working on installing my POV. Family hung out inside watching whatever they watch and I got to chill having fun and making my vehicle a bit more work/volunteer ready. VHF XTL5000 110W W3, UHF XPR4550 45w remote head, SW300, 4 HAWS in the tail lights and TIR3s in the grill. GPS antenna on the hood for ARS. Buddy of mine came over and helped, about 8 hours altogether. Been too long since I've done an up fit LOL.
Managed to break one of the strobe tubes during installation, another on order.
Ran out of time and didn't have time to tie in the switch box to the lights, hopefully tomorrow I go on call on Wednesday so if it might have to wait a week to get finished.
LOVE the Panavise bracket for the W3 head!
Absolute nightmare trying to find a level mounting point on the grill. The upper section that I initially tried to mount to is actually angled up about 15 degrees. Wasn't going to work for me. So the heads ended up in the lower section and look great.
I also have a mag mount Mini Justice that goes on the roof when I'm working a planned event or working an on call week.
Will update this thread over time, I have some additional plans for lighting. Also plan on adding the siren amp to the XTL5000 for radio rebroadcast, pretty much the only function I need. Tempted to pick up a 4200 Mini and move the lighting to the dash on the right side of the steering wheel, but for now the trusty SW300 will work.
Never mind the mess, we managed to get all of the wire pulled today and will clean up with split loom later on.
Antennas:
VHF is Maxrad MWV1365S wideband with spring
UHF is Comprod 5/8 wave with spring
GPS is Em-Wave EM-MG13001-SP magnetic mount
Front:
2 Amber/2 White Whelen TIR3s in grill
Rear:
4x HAWS in reverse and tail light reflectors fed from 4 outlet 75 watt Nova (Adamson branded) strobe supply - will likely upgrade to a 90 watt supply as funds allow
