Has anyone done an install on one of these types of trucks? I am wondering if the entire grille area is unusable by the shutters for lights or speakers. If so has anyone done a surface mount to the grille? I haven't found a light small enough.

Any Ideas?

Either surface mount it to the front of the grille or use hide-aways. You obviously have some limitations, so you either have to change your brand selection or product placement.  Brooking sells the ST6 which might fit between the grille and shutter, but I don't know if your shutters are too close that your wires will interfere with the opening and closing action.

I have a 2013 Ram 1500 and I have a possible solution for your problem.  Might I suggest a Setina Pushbar with the lights built in or some other bull/brush guard with the lights attached to it.

IF the vehicle has the factory skid plate option there is a perfect place to mount a siren speaker on that in front of the front axle- there is even factory holes in the skid plate you can line up with a speaker bracket.
