This is Conn Cable truck 125 it is for pole work and for doing all types of cable pulls. it had a Federal Sentry and just incandecent flashers on the boom

i replaced the beacon with a whelen L31 and mounted a Lin 3 under the the L31. i replaced the Flashers mounted on the boom with 500 series LED on the boom and mounted another one under the 500 on the pass side of the vehicle. i used the wiring that was there those trucks are very hard to rerun wires on

I used to do line work for a communications contractor, and we were lucky if any of the trucks had a beacon at all. We did, however, have tons of signs and cones.

Nice work!

Nice job. I always liked the L31. It looks like there is another truck next to it in need of an upgrade. I hope u get that job as well.

When I worked for Sm&P Utility, we only had a single, double flash strobe on the cab. We used our trucks to close down lanes to access manholes, so I always thought one strobe was a lil less than needed. I installed a FS highlighter (halo) on the cab, 2 par 36 led in the fog light cutouts and 2 grote leds to the rear in the camper-top. I also installed an arrowstick along the rear bumper. 2 KO dual talons to the sides of the topper. Everything in Amber.

Might seem like alot for a utility locator to have, but we did alot of 4 lane divided roads, interstates, and city streets. I never felt it was overdone to the point of wackerness.

Seeing what types of enviroments utility contractors work in, I have always wondered ow more do not get struck.
