Hello all,

To start this is my very first post to elightbars. I will be hopefully posting many more in the future as I outfit my Tahoe with warning lights and lots of other equipment.

Anyways,
I wanted to ask a question regarding fog lights in my Tahoe. I will be using red/white cannons in the fog light area, and was wondering if it would be better to just surface mount the cannon onto the "blank cover" provided by Chevy, or should I purchase fog light housings and drill the hole out to 1 inch and use them? I'm thinking the fog light housing is the best route, but I wanted to ask people who are familiar with these type of installs first.

And in case your wondering, the cannons will be wired so that:
Mode 1: Slow red only flashing (For when vehicle is parked)
Mode 2: fast red/white flashing (For response)
Mode 3: Steady burn white (fog light)

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

I would surface mount on the blank cover provided by Chevy. We have Whelen Vertex mounted on both our 1st Assistant Tahoe and Light rescue Suburban in that fashion, and it works perfectly for us. 120 canons will work better for that application, rather than the 360's, due the light dispersment as shown in the Cannon manual on Pg 1 here:

Honestly feel like the cannons or vertex's are just too small for the space. They look out of place to me.

I'd recommend some M4's or M6's in the space to increase the lighting foot print.

Good luck,
Seth

Seth,
I understand what you mean. I was going to order a set of Whelen FDCT10RR fog/driving lights, but I have found out they are discontinued. The M4 can be mounted in the fog light area of the 2015+ Tahoes.

Understand.

You maybe able to pickup a pair here. There are A LOT of resources on this site.

I'd still do a thorough investigation of the M4 or like sized head before resorting to the cannon.

Good luck!
Seth
